Shades of the Stars by David James Cover Reveal & Play-List Tour

So it’s my stop on the Shades of the Star cover reveal & play-list tour! I’m so excited to be participating especially since I just finished The Warrior’s Code! Check out this gorgeous cover as well as the awesome songs David picked out! I really enjoy hearing the songs authors envision accompanying their work! I often find songs reminding me of books so it’s interesting to see what the creative genius’ themselves pick out!

Here’s the cover! I think it might be one of my favorites!!

And here are the songs and David’s reasoning behind picking them!

“In Another Life” by The Veronicas-The Witch’s Curse

The Witch’s Curse is a sad story, yes, but it is also a story filled with hope. “In Another Life” is a sad song, but also one that is thick with hope. I listened to this song a lot while writing about Magda because of the voice of the singer. You can really hear her pain, and I loved that so much.

“Learning To Love Again” by Mat Kearney-The Enchanter’s Fire

“Learning To Love Again” is, of course, about learning to love again, something that The Enchanter’s Fire is about. What struck me were the lyrics to this song. They really focus on the fact that it’s everyone that must learn to love again at some point. Love is not a singular force, it affects multiple people at once.
